Dr. Mark Jacobs is the dedicated lead optometrist at Champion Eye Center. With 36 years of experience as an eye care specialist, Dr. Jacobs brings a wealth of clinical knowledge and a deeply patient-centered philosophy to the Asheville community.
Education and Experience
Dr. Jacobs grew up in Schenectady, NY, and began his academic journey at Buffalo State College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. He then moved to Chicago to attend the Illinois College of Optometry, earning his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1990.

Dr. Jacobs understands that patients in Asheville have many choices for their eye care, and he takes the trust they place in him and his staff very seriously. He believes what sets his practice apart is a steadfast commitment to service and problem-solving.

A resident of the Asheville area, Dr. Jacobs enjoys the local culture and is a self-described craft beer lover, noting that Asheville offers the best selection on the East Coast. He is an avid sports fan, rooting for the Atlanta Braves and the New York Yankees during baseball season, and the Buffalo Bills during football season.

Dr. Jacobs has been married to his wife, Daria, for 31 years, and they have two children. He is also a proud pet owner of an Australian Shepherd and a short-haired tabby cat. He is especially fortunate to have his daughter, Olivia, working alongside him in the office.
